Farmers Market ProduceWhen the MidWeek Farmer’s Market first arrived at Pukalani Stables, it came with a handful of vendors and high hopes. Their previous location had been on the windy side of Waimea, and it was not uncommon to see vendors tents suddenly taking flight. Pukalani Stables, with its back to the trades and its long overhanging eaves providing protection from the elements, was a welcome reprieve from those gusty mountain winds. It didn’t take long for the market to start growing in its new home. Farmers brought their incredible produce to Pukalani, and the people came to buy. Not only was this good for our farmers and the economy of our community, but the vendor fees supported the continued stables upkeep and improvement. The market also helps fund the PPS mission to preserve, protect and promote paniolo heritage.

Today there are over 30 vendors offering their wares and farm fresh produce every Wednesday at Pukalani Stables. The market has become so popular that we’re now working with Parker Ranch to expand the parking area. Good things continue to happen at the Paniolo Heritage Center at Pukalani Stables, and we’ll be announcing more of them to you in the months to come.
