Come visit the Paniolo Heritage Center at Pukalani Stables in beautiful UpCountry Waimea and learn about Hawaii’s proud ranching history, a legacy that stretches back to the 1830s when three Mexican vaqueros came to Waimea to teach the Hawaiians how to be cowboys. In addition to the museum, which is open free to the public, Paniolo Preservation Society hosts to thriving farmers markets every Wednesday and Saturday with amazing Big Island produce, plenty to eat and snack on, live music and tons of local vendors. The Paniolo Heritage Center is open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays, and open during farmers market hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Waimea Midweek Market is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every Wednesday, and the Kamuela Farmers Market is open from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays.
Pukalani Stables is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
